Bus
From Colombo Fort Bus Station, take a bus heading to Negombo. Look for buses labeled 'Negombo' or those with the route number 240, 245, or 250. The journey will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Negombo, get off at the main bus terminal. From the terminal, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk to the Dutch Canal, which is about a 10-minute walk away.
Train
Head to Colombo Fort Railway Station. Purchase a ticket for a train going to Negombo. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Negombo Railway Station, exit and take a tuk-tuk or walk to the Dutch Canal, which is about 1.5 km away and will take around 20-25 minutes on foot.

If you are already in Colombo and prefer a more direct option, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Negombo. Provide the driver with the destination 'Dutch Canal' in Negombo. The ride will typically take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.
