Walking
From the center of Ella, head towards the main road (Ella-Wellawaya Road). Walk along this road for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the sign for the 9 Arches Bridge. Continue past the bridge and keep walking straight. After about 30 more minutes, you will come to a small junction. Take the left path that leads uphill towards Galkanda. Follow the path through tea gardens and local houses for approximately 1 hour. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Porawagala Viewpoint. The last stretch will be a steep climb, so take your time. Upon reaching the viewpoint, you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
Trekking
If you prefer a more adventurous route, consider taking a guided trek from Ella town. Many local tour operators offer trekking packages that include a hike to Porawagala Viewpoint.
