Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ella, head towards the Ella Railway Station. Walk along the Main Street (also known as Ella - Bandarawela Road) until you reach the station. Once at the station, continue walking straight on the same road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and cafes. Look for a sign indicating a turn-off to the right towards 'Upper Diyaluma Waterfall'. Follow this road, which will take you uphill. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will see the entrance to Upper Diyaluma Waterfall on your left.

Tuk-Tuk
From your location in Ella, hail a tuk-tuk and inform the driver that you want to go to 'Upper Diyaluma Waterfall'. The journey should take about 20 minutes. The driver will take you along the Colombo - Batticaloa Highway, and you will need to keep an eye out for the sign indicating the waterfall entrance on the left side of the road. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they know the location before departing.
