Travel Guide to Ella Rock Trailhead

Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey from Ella town center, where you can find the main street, Passara Road. Head towards the Ella Railway Station, which is a notable landmark. From the station, continue walking on Passara Road for about 1 kilometer until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto a smaller road that leads towards the hills. As you walk, enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. After about 300 meters, you will see a sign that indicates the direction to Ella Rock. Follow this path, which will become a bit steeper as you ascend. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers, and you will eventually reach the trailhead for Ella Rock, where you can start your hike.

• Tuk-Tuk

  From the Ella town center, find a tuk-tuk stand or simply hail one from the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Ella Rock Trailhead. The ride will take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The driver will drop you off at the start of the hiking trail, which is marked with signs for Ella Rock. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Ella. Start from the town center and head towards Passara Road. Follow the same route as mentioned for walking, but on a bicycle. It will be a bit easier on the uphill sections. Once you reach the fork in the road, take the left fork and continue to follow the signs to the Ella Rock Trailhead. Keep in mind that the last part of the route may be steep, so ensure you are comfortable riding in such conditions.
