Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Galle, take the A2 highway towards Balapitiya. After approximately 25 km, you will reach Balapitiya. Once you enter Balapitiya, look for Samagi Mawatha road. Turn left onto Samagi Mawatha, and continue for about 1 km. You will find Madu Ganga Boat Safari at the address Nandana, Samagi Mawatha Mahaladuwa, Balapitiya 80550. There is usually free parking available on-site.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Galle, head to the Galle Central Bus Station. Look for a bus heading to Balapitiya; these buses run frequently throughout the day. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Balapitiya, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk to Samagi Mawatha. If walking, head north towards Samagi Mawatha and continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the boat safari location. The bus fare is usually around LKR 50 - 100.
