Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Galle Railway Station, exit the station and turn left onto the main road, Galle - Matara Road. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Galle Clock Tower, which is a prominent landmark. From the Clock Tower, take the street leading to the right towards the Fort. Walk straight until you reach the entrance of Galle Dutch Fort, which will be on your left.

    If you are at Galle Bus Station, exit the station and head towards the Galle - Matara Road. Turn left and walk along the road for about 500 meters. Keep walking until you reach the Galle Clock Tower. From there, take the street to the right that leads directly into the Fort area. Follow the path, and you will find the entrance to Galle Dutch Fort on your left.

    From the Galle Lighthouse, simply walk towards the main road (Galle - Matara Road) and turn left. Head down the hill for about 300 meters. You will see the entrance to Galle Dutch Fort on your right, just before reaching the Clock Tower.

    If you are at the Galle National Museum, exit the museum and walk towards the main road. Turn right and head straight for about 800 meters. You will pass the Galle Clock Tower; continue straight, and you will soon see the entrance to Galle Dutch Fort on your left.
