Car
If you are driving, start from Gampaha town center and head east on the Colombo-Kandy Road (A1). After approximately 21 km, take a left turn onto the Kandy Road (A1) towards Kadawatha. Continue driving for about 15 km until you reach Digana. Once in Digana, follow the signs to Hewainna Waterfall. The waterfall is located approximately 5 km from the main road. There is no entry fee to access the waterfall.
Public Transportation
To reach Hewainna Waterfall via public transportation, take a bus from Gampaha to Kandy. Buses leave frequently from Gampaha bus station. Once you arrive in Kandy, transfer to a local bus heading towards Digana. After reaching Digana, you can either walk or take a tuk-tuk for the remaining 5 km to the waterfall. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver that they will stop near Hewainna Waterfall, as some local routes may vary.
Walking/Trekking
If you prefer to walk after reaching Digana, you can trek the last 5 km to the waterfall. Follow the road signs, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. The trek is relatively easy and takes about 1 hour to reach the waterfall from the town. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you.
