If you're traveling by car, head towards Hambantota town center. From there, take the A2 road towards the south. Continue on the A2 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Wirawila Tissa Sanctuary. Follow the signs directing you to the sanctuary, and you'll be there in about 15 minutes from Hambantota town. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as the roads can be bumpy in certain areas.

For those using public transportation, catch a bus from the Hambantota bus station heading towards Tissa. Buses are frequent and usually leave every 30 minutes. The journey to Tissa takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Tissa, you can take a tuk-tuk or a local taxi to Wirawila Tissa Sanctuary, which is about 5 kilometers away from Tissa town. The tuk-tuk fare should be around 500 LKR (approx. $1.50).
