Car
If you are driving from Kandy city center, head northwest on the A26 road towards Matale. Continue for about 24 km until you reach the junction with the A9 road. Turn right onto the A9 road and follow the signs for Matale. After approximately 10 km, look for signs indicating Riverston. You will turn left onto the B234 road, which will take you through picturesque rural areas. Follow the B234 for about 15 km, and then keep an eye out for the Riverston Basecamp signs directing you to the left. Continue for a short distance until you reach the Pitawala area where the attraction is located.
Public Transport
To reach Riverston using public transport, start at the Kandy Bus Station and take a bus heading towards Matale. Buses to Matale run frequently throughout the day. After about 45 minutes of travel, you will arrive in Matale. From Matale, you will need to take a taxi or a local tuk-tuk to reach Riverston. Inform the driver to take you to Pitawala, Riverston Basecamp, which is approximately 20 km away from Matale. The taxi ride will take around 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
