Walking
Start your journey at the Kandy Lake, which is centrally located in Kandy. Head east towards the Kandy City Centre (KCC). From KCC, take the road leading east towards Dharmashoka Mawatha. As you walk, keep an eye out for local shops and eateries to experience the local culture. After approximately 1 km, look for the sign for Dharmashoka Mawatha on your left. Turn onto Dharmashoka Mawatha and continue straight. The Aruppala View Point is located at the end of this road, approximately 500 meters ahead. You'll know you’ve arrived when you see the viewpoint area with a sign indicating Aruppala View Point.
Tuk-Tuk
From your location in Kandy, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or flag down a tuk-tuk. Tell the driver you want to go to Aruppala View Point on Dharmashoka Mawatha. The ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you along the main road, and you can enjoy the sights of Kandy as you go. Make sure to have some small change ready, as tuk-tuk drivers often do not have change for larger bills. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off right at the viewpoint entrance.
Public Bus
Locate the nearest bus stop and catch a bus heading towards Aruppola. You may need to ask locals for the correct route, but buses in Kandy are frequent. Inform the bus conductor of your destination (Aruppala View Point) as you board. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Look for your stop as the bus approaches Dharmashoka Mawatha; you will need to get off and walk approximately 10 minutes to the viewpoint.
