Public Bus
From Kandy city center, head to the Kandy Central Bus Station. Look for a bus heading towards Muruthalawa or any bus that indicates it is going to 'Peradeniya' and get on it. The fare is usually around 30-50 LKR. The bus journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Muruthalawa. Once you reach the Muruthalawa area, alight at the nearest stop and ask locals for directions to the Muruthalawa Tea Factory, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

From anywhere in Kandy, you can easily find a tuk-tuk. Just tell the driver that you want to go to Muruthalawa Tea Factory. The ride should take around 30 minutes and costs approximately 500-700 LKR depending on the starting point. Make sure to confirm the price before getting in. The driver will take you directly to the factory.

If you are staying near the outskirts of Kandy, you can walk to Muruthalawa. Head towards the Kandy - Peradeniya road (A1), and follow the road signs towards Muruthalawa. The distance is about 7 km from Kandy city center, so it will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to walk there. Ensure you carry water and wear comfortable shoes.
