Car
If you're driving, start from the city of Kandy. Head west on the A26 road towards Peradeniya. After about 8 kilometers, you will arrive at the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Continue straight on the A26 for another 3 kilometers. When you reach the junction at Pilimathalawa, take a left onto Ranawana Temple Road. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers until you see the entrance to Ranawana Purana Rajamaha Viharaya on your right. Make sure to park in the designated area near the temple.

Public Transportation
To reach Ranawana Purana Rajamaha Viharaya by public transport from Kandy, take a bus from the Kandy Central Bus Stand heading towards Pilimathalawa. The buses are frequent and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop near the Pilimathalawa junction. From there, walk along Ranawana Temple Road for about 2 kilometers. The temple will be on your right. Be mindful of the local traffic and ensure you stay on the footpath where available.
