Travel Guide to Adawala waterfall (ආඳාවල)

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, make your way to the Kegalle town center. From Kegalle, take the A1 road towards Colombo. After about 2 km, take the right turn onto the B94 road towards Labugama. Continue on the B94 for approximately 6 km until you reach a fork in the road. Keep left to stay on the B94. After about 3 km, you will see signs for Adawala waterfall. Follow the signs for another 2 km until you reach the parking area near the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Adawala waterfall via public transportation, start at the Kegalle bus station where you can catch a bus towards Labugama. Buses frequently depart, so you shouldn't have to wait long. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Labugama, you can either walk approximately 3 km towards the waterfall or hire a tuk-tuk. If you opt for a tuk-tuk, the fare should be around LKR 300-500. Make sure to confirm the price before the ride.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you're already in Labugama, you can hire a tuk-tuk directly to Adawala waterfall. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes, and you can expect to pay around LKR 300. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity of Labugama, you can walk to Adawala waterfall. From the main road in Labugama, head towards the signs for the waterfall. The walk is approximately 3 km and will take around 40-50 minutes. Ensure you're wearing comfortable shoes, as the path can be uneven in spots.
