Car
From Kegalle town, head southeast on the A1 road towards Colombo. After about 5 kilometers, take the exit towards the Kegalle - Mawanella - Kandy road (B40). Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for the signs pointing to Bathalegala or Batalegala Rock. Once you reach the vicinity of Batalegala Rock, follow the local roads leading up to the site. Parking is available nearby, but may require a small fee, typically around 100 LKR.

Public Transportation
From Kegalle bus station, take a bus heading towards Mawanella. Buses run frequently and the fare is around 30 LKR. Inform the conductor that you wish to get off at Batalegala Rock. Once you arrive, it’s a short walk to the base of the rock. Be prepared for a bit of a trek if you choose to climb the rock; wear appropriate footwear.

Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Kegalle town. The fare to Bathalegala will vary depending on your negotiation skills, but expect to pay around 800-1200 LKR. The taxi will take you close to the rock, and you can walk from there. Ride-sharing apps may also be available in the area, offering similar pricing.
