Private Car
If you are traveling by private car, head to Kilinochchi town center. From there, take the A9 highway heading north towards Jaffna. After about 22 km, take the exit towards Elephant Pass (signs will indicate towards GCG4+7F9). Continue straight for approximately 5 km until you reach the historical landmark of Elephant Pass. Parking is available nearby.
Public Bus
To reach Elephant Pass via public transportation, start from Kilinochchi bus station. Board a bus heading to Jaffna on the A9 highway. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Elephant Pass, which is approximately 27 km from Kilinochchi. The fare is around 50 LKR. Once you get off, it’s a short walk (about 1 km) to the Elephant Pass landmark.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Kilinochchi town to Elephant Pass. This usually costs around 800-1000 LKR for a round trip. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand and agree on a time for the tuk-tuk to return, as public transport is less frequent in the area.
