Car
If you are driving, head towards Kandy and then take the A26 road towards Matale. After reaching the town of Kandy, follow the signs for the A26 road. Once you are on the A26, continue until you reach the turn-off for Thangappuwa Rd. This road will take you directly to the Knuckles Base Camp. Make sure to keep your GPS handy, as the roads can be winding and may not always be well-marked. Parking is available at the camp.

Public Transportation
To reach Knuckles Base Camp using public transportation, start from Kandy. Take a bus from the Kandy bus station towards Matale. Inform the driver you want to stop at the Thangappuwa junction. The fare is usually around LKR 50-100. Once you reach the junction, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk or walk approximately 3 kilometers along Thangappuwa Rd to reach Knuckles Base Camp. The tuk-tuk ride will cost around LKR 300-500, depending on your bargaining skills.

For the adventurous, you can trek to Knuckles Base Camp from nearby trails. Starting from the nearest village, take the trail leading towards the camp. Ensure you have a local guide to help you navigate the paths through the lush forest. This trek can take around 3-4 hours depending on your pace and the trail conditions.
