Car
If you're driving, start from the town of Hunnasgiriya. Head east on the A26 road towards Kandy. After approximately 8 km, turn right onto the Dothalugala Camping Site Road. Continue straight for about 5 km until you reach the Dothalugala Nature Trail. Be sure to keep an eye out for signs pointing to the trail.
Public Transportation
From Kandy, take a bus to Hunnasgiriya. The buses are frequent and will take about 1 hour. Once in Hunnasgiriya, you can either take a tuk-tuk (around LKR 500-1000) to Dothalugala Camping Site Road or walk (approximately 6 km) by following the A26 road east, then turning onto Dothalugala Camping Site Road. Ensure you have cash for the tuk-tuk fare.
Tuk-tuk
If you are in the nearby areas or staying in Hunnasgiriya, hire a tuk-tuk for a direct ride to Dothalugala Nature Trail. The fare will vary depending on your starting point but expect to pay around LKR 500-1000 for a short ride. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.
