Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Nuwara Eliya and head towards the Knuckles Mountain Range. Take the A5 highway towards Kandy. After about 20 minutes, you will reach the turn-off for the Knuckles Mountain Range, which is marked by a sign. Follow the road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the national park. There is a small parking area here, and you may have to pay a nominal entrance fee (around LKR 300 per person). From the parking area, start your hike towards Lover's Leap Waterfall, which is about a 30-minute walk. Follow the well-marked trail leading downhill, and you will hear the waterfall before you see it.

Public Transportation

To reach Lover's Leap Waterfall via public transport, take a bus from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. This journey will take approximately 1.5 hours and cost around LKR 100. Once in Kandy, get a local bus or tuk-tuk to the entrance of the Knuckles Mountain Range, which is about another 30 minutes away. Expect to pay around LKR 300 for the bus or LKR 800 for a tuk-tuk. Upon arrival at the park entrance, you may need to pay an entrance fee of about LKR 300 per person. From there, hike approximately 30 minutes down the designated trail to reach Lover's Leap Waterfall.
