If you are driving, start from the center of Matara town. Head south on Main Street (Bypass Road), then turn left onto Nilwella Road. Continue on Nilwella Road for approximately 3 km. Look for signs indicating Freedom Rock, which will be on your right. There is limited parking available near the rock, so be sure to park safely and follow any local parking regulations.

To reach Freedom Rock by public transportation, take a local bus from Matara bus station heading towards Nilwella. The bus fare is usually around 30 LKR. Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at Freedom Rock. After getting off, walk about 500 meters along Nilwella Road in the direction of the sea. You should see signs directing you to Freedom Rock.
