Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Talpe Beach from the Matara District center. Start on A2 road (Galle Road) and continue south towards Galle. After approximately 8 kilometers, look for a sign indicating Talpe and turn left onto Wellethota Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Thalpe Beach. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Matara to Galle. Buses frequently depart from the Matara bus station. Once you arrive at Galle, transfer to a local bus heading to Talpe. The bus ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes. Inform the bus driver of your destination, and they will drop you off near Wellethota Road. From there, it's a short walk to Thalpe Beach.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a tuk-tuk from Matara. Negotiate a fare beforehand, which typically ranges from 1000 to 1500 LKR for a one-way trip to Thalpe Beach. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure you have cash on hand, as most tuk-tuk drivers do not accept cards.
