Turn right onto Galle Road and walk for about 1 km until you reach the entrance of the Aparekka area. Look for signs leading to the Ellakanda Wewa. Continue walking along the road, and after approximately 1.5 km, you will see local signage indicating the direction to Ellakanda Tank Sluice. Follow these signs for another 500 meters until you arrive at the sluice gate.

From your location in Matara, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or flag down a passing tuk-tuk. Tell the driver that you want to go to 'Ellakanda Tank Sluice' or show them the address: 'XHGV+9MR, Ellakanda Wewa, Aparekka'. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
