If you are starting from the Matara Bus Station, exit the station and head south towards the main road (Galle Road). Once on Galle Road, turn left and walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the bridge over the Nilwala River. Cross the bridge, and you will see Nilwala Park on your left side shortly after crossing the river. The park is located at coordinates WGWX+MQ7, which you can use with a maps application on your phone for precise navigation.

From any location in Matara, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or hail a tuk-tuk. Ask the driver to take you to 'Nilwala Park' or show them the address WGWX+MQ7. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure the driver knows the area as the park is close to the river.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can start from the Matara town center. Head towards the Galle Road and follow it south. After approximately 1 kilometer, look for the bridge over the Nilwala River. Cross the bridge, and soon after, you will find Nilwala Park on your left.
