Walking
If you are in central Matara, start at the Matara Bus Station. Exit the station and head southeast on Matara - Dondra Road. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with the Galle - Matara Main Road. Turn left onto Galle - Matara Main Road. After approximately 300 meters, you will see the entrance to Matara Fort on your right. Follow the signs to access the fort.
Tuk-Tuk
From any location in Matara, flag down a tuk-tuk and inform the driver that you want to go to Matara Fort (WGVX+P8R). The ride should take around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the driver can drop you off at the entrance of the fort.
Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start from the Matara Bus Station. Head southeast on Matara - Dondra Road for about 1 kilometer. At the intersection with Galle - Matara Main Road, turn left. Continue cycling straight for approximately 300 meters, and you will find the entrance to Matara Fort on your right. Secure your bicycle at the parking area before entering the fort.
