Travel Guide to Ahangama Secret Beach

Getting There

• Walking

  From your location in Mirissa, head towards the main road (Matara Road). Depending on where you are, this may involve walking through local streets. Once you reach Matara Road, turn left and walk in the direction of Ahangama. Keep an eye out for local landmarks along the way, as this will help orient you. After about 3 kilometers, you will pass several small shops and eateries. Continue walking until you reach a junction where you see signs for Ahangama. At this point, you can choose to continue straight or take a right turn onto the road leading to Ahangama Beach. Follow the road for about 1 kilometer.

• Tuk-tuk

  Find a tuk-tuk stand or signal a tuk-tuk from the street in Mirissa. Inform the driver that you want to go to Ahangama Secret Beach. The driver will take you along Matara Road towards Ahangama. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest access point to the beach. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Ahangama Beach, as well as local landmarks to help ensure you're heading in the right direction.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Mirissa. Once you have your bicycle, head towards Matara Road and turn left. Biking towards Ahangama, you'll travel approximately 3 kilometers on the main road. The route is relatively flat and scenic, with opportunities to stop and take in the views. Continue until you reach the junction where you can turn towards Ahangama Beach. Follow the signs and bike for another kilometer to reach the beach area.
