If you are traveling by car, start from a central location in North Central Province, such as Anuradhapura. Take the A9 road south towards Habarana. After approximately 45 kilometers, look for signs to Habarana. Turn left onto the A11 road, and follow it for about 12 kilometers. You will arrive at Habarana, from where you can easily find the lake by following local signs or asking for directions.

To reach Habarana Lake via public transportation, first take a bus from Anuradhapura to Habarana. Buses depart regularly from the main bus terminal in Anuradhapura and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. The fare is approximately LKR 100-150 (less than USD 1).
