Walking
From the center of Nuwara Eliya, start at the famous Nuwara Eliya Post Office. Head east on Post Office Road towards the main street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the A5 highway. Cross the road and continue on the A5 highway towards Hawa Eliya, which is about 3 kilometers away. Be sure to walk on the sidewalk for safety. As you approach Hawa Eliya, look for a sign indicating Galwala Ella Falls. Once you see the sign, take a left onto a smaller road that leads directly to the falls. The walk from the Post Office to the falls will take approximately 40–50 minutes.

Public Transport (Bus)
Start at the Nuwara Eliya bus station located near the city center. Take any local bus heading to Hawa Eliya, which should be clearly marked. The bus ride will take around 15–20 minutes. Inform the bus driver that you are going to Galwala Ella Falls so they can let you know when to get off. The bus will drop you at a point near the entrance to the trail that leads to the falls. After getting off, follow the signs towards Galwala Ella Falls, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
