Walking
If you are starting from the city center of Nuwara Eliya, begin at the post office located on Bank Road. Head south on Bank Road until you reach the intersection with the Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street and walk straight for about 500 meters, passing shops and local eateries. You will see the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club on your right. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Avissawella - Hatton - Nuwara Eliya Highway (A7 road). Follow this road for approximately 1.5 km. As you walk, keep an eye out for the signs indicating the Swarnagiri Maha Viharaya / Single Tree Temple. The temple is located on your left side, and you will see its distinctive architecture from the road.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the Nuwara Eliya bus station, you can take a local bus towards Hatton. Buses are frequent, and you should find one that departs every 30 minutes. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Swarnagiri Maha Viharaya. The journey should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the temple stop, disembark and walk back a short distance along the main road until you see the entrance to Swarnagiri Maha Viharaya / Single Tree Temple on your right.
