Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the center of Nuwara Eliya at the famous Gregory Lake. Head east on the main road, passing by the Nuwara Eliya Post Office on your left. Continue along the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction where the road splits. Take the right fork onto the Avissawella - Hatton - Nuwara Eliya Highway (A7). Follow this road for approximately 7 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful tea plantations and scenic views. Keep an eye out for signage indicating St Clair View Point 2. Once you see the sign for St Clair View Point, follow it down the small access road leading to the viewpoint, which will be on your left.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Nuwara Eliya. Begin at Gregory Lake and cycle east towards the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From there, continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction. Take the right turn onto the Avissawella - Hatton - Nuwara Eliya Highway (A7). Cycle for about 7 kilometers, enjoying the scenic tea plantations along the way. Look for signs that point you towards St Clair View Point 2, and take the small access road to your left to reach the viewpoint.

    From Nuwara Eliya, walk to the bus station located near the town center. Look for a bus heading towards Talawakelle. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at St Clair View Point. Once the bus stops, you may need to walk a short distance (about 500 meters) back along the road to find the viewpoint, which should be clearly marked.
