Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Nuwara Eliya, start at the Nuwara Eliya Post Office located on Church Road. Head east on Church Road until you reach the junction with the A5 highway. Continue straight onto the A5 highway for about 1.5 kilometers. You'll pass several shops and local eateries along the way. At the next major junction, turn left onto the B2 road towards Pundaluoya. Follow the B2 road for approximately 8 kilometers. You'll enjoy beautiful views of tea plantations and the surrounding hills. After 8 kilometers, you will reach the village of Pundaluoya. Keep an eye out for a small sign pointing towards Dunsinane Falls. From this point, take the dirt path that leads to the falls. It's about a 15-minute hike down to the falls from the main road.

    Begin your journey at the Nuwara Eliya bus station, which is located on the Main Street. Look for buses heading to Pundaluoya; they are frequent and will cost you a small fare. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride for about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Pundaluoya, ask the bus conductor to drop you off at the nearest stop to Dunsinane Falls. From there, follow the path indicated by a small sign leading to the falls. It will take approximately 15 minutes of walking to reach the falls.
