Walking
If you are in Sigiriya town, start by heading towards the main road (Sigiriya Road). Walk in the direction of Dambulla. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will come to a junction. At the junction, take a left turn onto Polonnaruwa Road. Continue walking straight for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Polonnaruwa. The Archaeological Museum Complex is located on your right after you enter Polonnaruwa.
Tuk-Tuk
From any location in Sigiriya, you can easily hire a tuk-tuk. Simply ask the driver to take you to the Archaeological Museum Complex in Polonnaruwa. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand, which should typically range from 2000 to 3000 LKR for the trip. The ride will take around 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Sigiriya. Start from your location and head towards Sigiriya Road, cycling in the direction of Dambulla. Once you reach the junction, turn left onto Polonnaruwa Road. Continue cycling along this road for about 10 kilometers until you arrive at Polonnaruwa. The Archaeological Museum Complex will be on your right as you enter the town.
