Walking
Start your journey from the main entrance of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, located at the base of the rock. Head southeast along the main road (Dambulla - Sigiriya Road). After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction of the road leading towards Kumbukkandanwala. Turn left onto this road. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for local signs indicating Dunnabindunu Wewa. As you approach the area, you will find the lake (Wewa) on your right side. The entrance to the lakeside area is accessible from this road. Enjoy the serene views and take your time to explore the surroundings.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sigiriya. Start at the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and ride southeast along Dambulla - Sigiriya Road. After about 1.5 kilometers, look for the junction that leads to Kumbukkandanwala. Turn left here and continue cycling for about 2 kilometers. You will notice signs for Dunnabindunu Wewa along the way. The lake will be on your right as you approach. Park your bicycle at a safe spot and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dunnabindunu Wewa.
Tuk Tuk
From your accommodation in Sigiriya, hail a Tuk Tuk and ask the driver to take you to Dunnabindunu Wewa. The driver will take you along Dambulla - Sigiriya Road, which is the main route. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction where the driver should turn left towards Kumbukkandanwala. Continue for about 2 kilometers until you see Dunnabindunu Wewa on your right. Make sure to agree on a return fare with the driver beforehand.
