You will pass by several small shops and local eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Polonnaruwa. As you get closer, you will start seeing signs for Vatadage. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the entrance to Vatadage, which is located just off the main road.

    Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sigiriya. Start your journey by cycling south towards the main road (Dambulla - Polonnaruwa Road). Turn right once you reach the main road and cycle for about 5 kilometers. The ride will take you through scenic countryside and local villages. You will see signs along the way directing you to Polonnaruwa and Vatadage. The cycling route is fairly flat and should take around 20-25 minutes to reach the entrance of Vatadage.

    Find a tuk-tuk stand in Sigiriya or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Once you are in a tuk-tuk, tell the driver you want to go to Vatadage in Polonnaruwa.
