Getting There

Walking
Starting from the Unawatuna Beach, head northeast along the beach towards the direction of Weligama. Keep walking until you reach the end of the beach. As you walk, you will pass various shops and restaurants. Once you reach the end of the beach, you will see the main road (Galle-Matara Road). Cross the road carefully, and continue walking south along the footpath. You will pass a few local shops and eateries. After approximately 1.5 km, keep an eye out for a sign indicating the direction to Weligama. Follow the sign and continue straight for about 2 km until you reach the Weligama town area. Once in Weligama, look for Rabinelge Watta on your left side; it’s a small road off the main street. The Pet Fish Aquarium will be located at the end of this road.

Tuk-Tuk
From Unawatuna, find a tuk-tuk near the main road or ask your hotel to call one for you. Inform the driver that you want to go to Rabinelge Watta in Weligama. The journey should take around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you along the Galle-Matara Road. Once you arrive in Weligama, look for the small road leading to Rabinelge Watta on the left side of the main street. Ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of the road; the Pet Fish Aquarium is located at the end of that road.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Unawatuna. Start from Unawatuna Beach and head towards the main road (Galle-Matara Road). Once on the main road, cycle south towards Weligama. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Be cautious of the traffic and try to stick to the side of the road. After about 3 km, you will reach the town of Weligama. Look for the signs towards Rabinelge Watta, which is a small road off the main street. The Pet Fish Aquarium will be at the end of this road.
