Getting There

  • By Car

    If you're driving from Nuwara Eliya, head southeast on the A5 road towards Hali Ela. After approximately 18 kilometers, turn onto the A26 road towards Badulla. Continue for about 25 kilometers until you reach the Kalupahana area. From Kalupahana, take the Kalupahana - Ohiya Road for around 7 kilometers. You will see signs for Bambarakanda Falls. There is a small parking area available near the falls. Note that it's advisable to have a vehicle with good clearance due to the road condition.

  • By Public Transportation

    Start from Nuwara Eliya and take a bus to Haputale. The bus fare is approximately LKR 100 - 150 and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. From Haputale, you can catch a local bus heading to Ohiya. The fare for this leg is around LKR 50 and takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ohiya, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Bambarakanda Falls, which should cost approximately LKR 300 - 500. The tuk-tuk ride will take about 15 minutes.
