Experience Gampaha Botanical Garden

Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Colombo, take the A1 highway towards Gampaha. Continue on A1 for about 25 kilometers until you reach Gampaha. Once in Gampaha, look for the Gampaha Fly Over road. Turn onto Gampaha Fly Over, and you will see the entrance to Gampaha Botanical Garden on your left. Parking is available at the garden entrance, and there is no charge for parking.

  • Bus

    From Colombo, you can take a bus from the Colombo Central Bus Stand (Pettah) to Gampaha. Look for buses heading towards Gampaha, which are frequent and take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Gampaha Bus Station, exit the station and walk towards Gampaha Fly Over. The garden is approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus station. Follow the Fly Over road, and you will find the entrance to the Gampaha Botanical Garden on your right.

  • Train

    You can also take a train from Colombo Fort Station to Gampaha. Trains leave regularly and the journey takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Upon arriving at Gampaha Railway Station, exit the station and head towards Gampaha Fly Over. It is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the road until you see the entrance to the garden on your right.
