If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city in Western Province, such as Colombo. Take the A1 highway heading north and follow the signs for Kelaniya. After approximately 10 kilometers, take the exit onto the B10 road towards Kelaniya. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers until you reach Bollegala. You will find Manelwatta Temple located at WXW2+52M, Bollegala, Kalaniya. Look for the large entrance gate to the temple on your left. Parking is available near the temple entrance.

To reach Manelwatta Temple via public transportation, take a train from Colombo Fort Station to Kelaniya Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately LKR 50. Once you arrive at Kelaniya Station, you can catch a local bus (Route 138) towards Bollegala. The bus fare is around LKR 30, and the journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the stop for Bollegala and walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach Manelwatta Temple. Look for the signs directing you to the temple along the way.
