Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Sigiriya from your location in the Wet Zone. Use a GPS device or map app to navigate to Sigiriya. Once you reach Sigiriya, look for the entrance to the Pidurangala Rock area, which is approximately 3 kilometers from Sigiriya town. There is a small parking area near the entrance where you can park your vehicle. Please note that there may be a parking fee of around 100 LKR.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a bus from your location to Sigiriya. Buses are available from major towns in the Wet Zone, such as Kandy or Dambulla. Once you arrive in Sigiriya, you can either take a tuk-tuk (three-wheeler) or walk to the entrance of Pidurangala Rock, which is about 3 kilometers away. Tuk-tuk rides usually cost around 300-500 LKR, depending on your negotiation skills.
Walking
If you choose to walk from Sigiriya, follow the main road heading north towards Pidurangala Rock. The route is generally well-marked, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Be prepared for a walk of approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.
Entrance Fee
Once you reach the Pidurangala Rock entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee of approximately 500 LKR. Keep your ticket safe, as it may be checked by park staff.
