Kullaberg's rugged peninsula thrusts boldly into the Kattegat, its steep cliffs plunging directly into the churning sea. Towering up to 188 meters at Håkull, these sheer faces create a wild contrast to Skåne's typical flatlands, offering panoramic vistas across Öresund and Kattegatt. The rocky outcrops and wave-battered shores form natural tidepools teeming with crustaceans, sea urchins, and small fish, while the air carries the sharp tang of salt and seaweed.

Mixed hardwood forests cloak the ridge, blending birch, beech, oak, and pine with understories of hawthorn, juniper, and blackthorn. This varied canopy shelters rare species like spring vetchling, keeled garlic, wild marjoram, and the scarce grass pea, found in few other Swedish spots. Microclimates shaped by cliff exposures foster specialized habitats, from sun-drenched south-facing slopes to shaded northern glens, supporting a tapestry of greens and seasonal blooms.

Kullaberg pulses with biodiversity as an Important Bird Area and Special Protection Area. Seabirds nest on ledges, foxes, badgers, roe deer, and red deer roam meadows, while adders, lizards, and frogs thrive in marshes covering five percent of the land. Clear waters host mussels, snails, and ocean fish; porpoises occasionally surface near the cliffs. Freshwater ponds near trails buzz with amphibians, enhancing the sense of a living, breathing ecosystem.

Inhabited since the Stone Age, the reserve holds stone circles, grave mounds, village remnants, and over 20 cliff caves with archaeological treasures. These sites whisper of prehistoric lives amid the natural drama. The Kullen Lighthouse, built in 1898 by architect Magnus Dahlander, stands as Sweden's brightest beacon, guiding vessels through this vital sea passage at the peninsula's western tip.

A network of paths crisscrosses the 75 square kilometers, leading to beach coves, ridge summits, and the lighthouse. The paved road from Mölle accesses trailheads, while the naturum Kullaberg visitor center beside the lighthouse immerses guests in the reserve's story through exhibits on geology, sky-to-sea nature, interactive modules, bird sounds, and a saltwater aquarium for touching starfish under guidance. Modules highlight mushrooms, flowers, and sea creatures, serving as the perfect launchpad for discovery.
