Bryggeriet Ångkvarn stands as Uppsala's first brewpub, rooted in the city's industrial past. The site traces back to 1874 with the establishment of Upsala Ångqvarn, a steam-powered mill that also housed a distillery, macaroni factory, and yeast production. Earlier connections link to Upsala Bayerska Bryggeri from 1865, creating a rich brewing legacy revived in this modern venue.

Brewing Experience

The heart of the brewpub is its visible brewery behind the bar, where visitors can observe the brewing process and inhale the aromatic scents of malt and hops. Beers are exclusively sold on-site, emphasizing locality. A wide array of styles has been produced since opening, with beer flights recommended to sample current offerings.
