If you are traveling by car, start from your location in Västergötland and head towards the E6 motorway. Follow the signs for E6 towards Göteborg. Continue on the E6 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the exit for Kungälv (Exit 88). After exiting, follow the signs to Kungälv city center. Once in Kungälv, follow the local road signs to Bohus Fortress, located at Fästningsparken 3, 442 31 Kungälv. There are parking facilities available near the fortress, but please note that parking may incur a fee.

For those using public transportation, you can take a train from your nearest station to Kungälv. If you are near Gothenburg, take a train from Gothenburg Central Station to Kungälv Station (approximately a 30-minute journey). Once you arrive at Kungälv Station, you can take Bus 203 (towards Kungsbacka) or Bus 501 (towards Lilla Edet) and get off at the 'Bohus Fästning' bus stop. The fortress is just a short walk from the bus stop. Make sure to check the latest schedules on Västtrafik's website as bus and train timings may vary.
