Walking
Starting from the center of Ascona, head towards the lakeside promenade along the Lungolago. You will find yourself on Via delle Scuole. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes, enjoying the beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. As you approach the town of Locarno, the promenade will lead you directly to Lungolago Giuseppe Motta. Look for the large waterfront area; Lungolago di Locarno is located at Lungolago Giuseppe Motta 7, 6600 Locarno. It’s a picturesque spot perfect for a leisurely stroll.
Bus
From Ascona, you can take the bus to Locarno. Head to the Ascona bus station and catch the PostBus line towards Locarno, which runs frequently. The ride takes approximately 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Locarno, disembark at the 'Locarno, Stazione' stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Lungolago di Locarno. Head towards the lake, and you’ll see Lungolago Giuseppe Motta directly in front of you, where you can enjoy the scenic views.
Ferry
For a scenic route, take a ferry from Ascona to Locarno. Head to the Ascona ferry terminal located along the lakeside promenade. Check the ferry schedule, as departures vary.
