If you are starting from the Basel SBB train station, exit the station and head towards the main road, Bahnhofstrasse. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with Barfüssergasse. Turn right onto Barfüssergasse. Walk straight for about 300 meters, passing the Barfüsserkirche on your left, until you reach Market Square (Marktplatz). At Market Square, you will see the Town Hall. From there, walk towards the right side of the square to find Freie Strasse, a pedestrian shopping street. Continue along Freie Strasse until you reach the junction with Heuberg. Turn left onto Heuberg and walk straight until you reach the Rhine River. Once you arrive at the river, turn right to walk along the riverside promenade. Continue walking along the river until you find Rheinsprung. The entrance to Garten der Alten Universität will be located at Rheinsprung 15, just a short distance along the promenade.

From the Basel SBB train station, take tram number 10 towards 'Riehen' or tram number 8 towards 'Weil am Rhein'. Get off at the stop 'Marktplatz'.
