Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Interlaken, which is a popular base in the Jungfrau Region. From Interlaken, take the A8 motorway towards Spiez. Continue on A8 for about 20 minutes (approximately 17 km). Take the exit towards Thun/Spiez and merge onto the A6. Follow the signs for Thun, and after about 15 minutes, you will arrive in Thun. From the city center, follow signs to the lake, which is located just a short distance from the main thoroughfare. There are several parking options available near the lakeside, but be mindful that parking fees may apply, typically ranging from CHF 1.50 to CHF 5.00 per hour.

• Train

  For those traveling by public transportation, begin your journey from Interlaken Ost train station. Board a train heading to Spiez, which runs frequently. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Spiez, transfer to a train heading towards Thun. This leg will take approximately 15 minutes. After reaching Thun, exit the train station and follow the signs to Lake Thun, which is within walking distance (about 10-15 minutes). The total cost for the train ride from Interlaken to Thun is about CHF 10-15 one way, depending on the time and specific train service.

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, start at the Interlaken West bus station. Board the bus heading to Thun, which is operated by PostBus. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes, passing through scenic landscapes along the way. The bus will drop you off at the Thun bus station, which is conveniently located near the lakefront. The ticket price for this route is generally around CHF 10. Be sure to check the local schedule for bus times.
