Travel Guide to Park Spiez

Getting There

• Train

  From Grindelwald, walk to the Grindelwald train station. This is located just a short stroll from the center of Grindelwald. Once at the station, take a train towards Interlaken Ost. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. At Interlaken Ost, transfer to a train heading to Spiez. This leg of the journey takes about 20 minutes. After arriving at Spiez station, exit the train and walk towards the lake; Park Spiez is located at Schoneggstrasse 11, which is about a 15-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs towards the lakefront, and you’ll find the park along the scenic shoreline.

• Bus

  From the center of Grindelwald, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is usually located near the train station or main square. Catch a bus that heads towards Interlaken. Make sure to check the bus schedule as the frequency may vary. After arriving in Interlaken, you may need to transfer to another bus or walk to the Interlaken Ost train station where you can board a train to Spiez. Once at Spiez, exit the train and walk towards the lakefront, following the directions as previously mentioned to reach Park Spiez.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can take a scenic walking route from Grindelwald to Spiez, though this is quite a long trek and would require a full day (approximately 6-8 hours depending on your pace). Start from the center of Grindelwald and follow the hiking trails towards Interlaken. Once you reach Interlaken, continue towards Spiez along the lakeside paths. This route will offer stunning views but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water.
