Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Zermatt, head towards the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise station. Walk along Bahnhofstrasse, the main street of Zermatt, until you reach the train station (Gornergrat Bahn). The station is approximately 10-15 minutes away on foot. Once you reach the Gornergrat Bahn station, you can purchase a ticket to take the cogwheel train to Gornergrat. Enjoy the stunning views during the ride, which takes about 30 minutes.

  • Cable Car

    After reaching Gornergrat, you will be able to see the Matterhorn in all its glory. If you want a closer view, take the cable car from Gornergrat back down to Zermatt, then transfer to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car. Follow the signs towards the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise station. The entire journey will take about 1 hour including waiting times.

  • Public Transport

    If you prefer to take public transport, from Zermatt take the bus to Trockener Steg. Catch a shuttle bus from Zermatt's main station to Trockener Steg, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. From Trockener Steg, you can take the cable car directly to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Matterhorn.
