Walking
From the Zermatt train station, head southeast on Bahnhofstrasse. Continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it will turn into a pedestrian path. Follow the signs towards Gornergrat and Schwarzsee. This route will take you through the charming streets of Zermatt, filled with shops and cafes. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the station for the Schwarzsee cable car. Take the cable car to Schwarzsee, which is located at an altitude of 2600 m. Once you arrive at Schwarzsee, the Zermatt Sign is easily visible nearby.
Cable Car
From Zermatt, walk to the Gornergrat Bahn station located near the train station. Purchase a ticket for the Gornergrat train. Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride. Get off at the Gornergrat station, which is known for breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. From here, take the cable car to Schwarzsee. After arriving at Schwarzsee, follow the signs to the Zermatt Sign, which is a short walk from the cable car station.
