Getting There

Car

From Fribourg, take the A12 highway towards Bern and then merge onto the A6 towards Spiez. Continue on the A6, then take the exit for the Aletsch Glacier towards Zermatt. Follow the signs for Zermatt, which will lead you to Täsch where you will have to park your car. Note that Zermatt is car-free, so you cannot drive into the town itself. Parking in Täsch costs approximately CHF 15-20 per day. From Täsch, take the shuttle train to Zermatt, which takes about 12 minutes and costs around CHF 8. Once in Zermatt, follow the signs to the gondola lift station and take the Schwarzsee gondola to reach Zermatt Schwarzsee.
Public Transportation

Start your journey from Fribourg's main train station (Gare de Fribourg). Take a train towards Visp, which may require a change at Bern or Brig depending on the schedule. The total travel time is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Visp, transfer to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) train towards Zermatt. This scenic train ride takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival in Zermatt, follow signs to the gondola lift station. Purchase a ticket for the Schwarzsee gondola, which will take you directly to Zermatt Schwarzsee.
