Walking
From the Zermatt train station, head south towards Bahnhofstrasse. Continue walking straight along Bahnhofstrasse for about 10 minutes until you reach the end of the street. Then, take a right onto Oberer Mattenweg. Follow this road as it curves left, leading you towards the Matterhorn. Continue straight until you reach the end of the road where you will see the sign for the Gornergrat Railway. This is a scenic route, and you will pass several shops and cafes along the way.
Public Transport
From Zermatt, take the local bus route number 1 that heads towards the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. The bus stop is conveniently located near the train station. Ride the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the final stop. Upon disembarking, follow the signs for the Gornergrat Railway, which will lead you to the scenic railway station.
