From Zurich Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take a direct train to Lucerne (Luzern). Trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Lucerne train station, exit the station and walk towards the lake. Follow the signs for 'Lake Lucerne' which is just a 10-minute walk straight ahead.

From Zurich, you can also take a PostBus (yellow coach) to Lucerne. Head to the Zurich central bus station (Zürich Central). Look for the PostBus departures and board a bus heading to Lucerne. The trip will take around 1 hour 15 minutes. Upon arrival at Lucerne, follow the signs to the lake, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to enjoy the scenic route, you can take a train to Zug and then switch to a boat on Lake Zug to reach Lucerne. First, take a train from Zurich Hauptbahnhof to Zug (approximately 30 minutes). At Zug train station, follow the signs to the boat terminal. Take a boat to Lucerne, which will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Lucerne boat dock, you will be right at Lake Lucerne.
