Continue on the B1 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the A104 road towards Ngara. Turn onto the A104 and drive for about 50 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards the Retima Hippo Pool; you will have to turn off the main road onto a dirt track that leads directly to the pool. The last stretch may require careful driving as the road can be bumpy. Make sure to have a GPS or mobile map application handy for navigation.

    To reach Retima Hippo Pool using public transportation, start from Mwanza. Take a daladala (local minibus) heading towards Nyamagana. The fare is typically around TZS 1,000 - TZS 2,000.
